A report compiled by a trusted App Analytics source has found that mobile shopping apps boomed last year. There was a 20% increase in the number of times mobile shopping apps were downloaded, and this totalled at 5.4 billion downloads. The amount users spent in the app store totalled at $120 billion and mobile phone usage also increased by 10% in 2019. The report also revealed that the average mobile phone user spends 3.7 hours on their phone.

One particularly interesting point the report has unveiled is the fact there is a positive correlation between the time spent shopping on devices and online sales. Online retailers need to keep this correlation in mind and ensure that their shop is optimised across mobile devices in order to reap the benefits of the growing trend in mobile shopping.
