Amazon has announced that it is investing $40 million towards building a brand new Amazon Robotics facility. This is to expand their reach in technology and develop robots that will increase the efficiency of Amazon’s services. Amazon Robotics’ chief technologist, Tye Brady, has said “This expansion will allow us to continue to innovate quickly and improve delivery speed for customers around the world.”

Although it is highly innovative that fulfilment and distribution processes are becoming automated around the world, there are complex issues surrounding this technological leap. Amazon workers could potentially lose their jobs, and the use of electronic equipment could increase pollution.
