According to new research, only 69% of small and medium-sized enterprises in Ireland have an online presence. More surprisingly, it has been found that out of these business who have a website, only 32% sell products or services online. The CEO of IE Domain Registry, David Curtin, has said of Irish businesses: “Few engage in e-commerce and fewer still use business-boosting tools, such as project management and file hosting software.”

Irish SMEs are missing out on golden opportunities by not selling their products and services through their websites. As the Irish E-commerce market is currently valued at €12.3 billion, businesses with an online presence could be generating a lot more sales if they sold through their website.
